Identification Requirements

The Nisga’a Land Title Office needs to verify the identity of individuals involved in an application submitted for registration. Two pieces of valid identification (front and back) are required.

This identification requirement does not apply to individuals who are submitting applications for registration on behalf of a Nisga’a Village or the Nisga’a Nation.

Expired identification is not acceptable, unless it is a copy of a Certificate of Indian Status card from one of the four Nisga’a Bands.

For Nisga’a Citizens, a citizenship number is required. This will become your ID number in the Nisga’a Land Title system.

Identification acceptable for the Nisga’a Land Title Office, in preferred order, is:

  • Nisga’a Citizenship card
  • Certificate of Indian Status card
  • BC Driver’s Licence or BCID
  • Other Driver’s Licence
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport

Individuals are welcome to visit our office to have copies made for applications at no charge.
